This error appears to occur when two instances of Windows Media Player are
trying to run at the same time. After playing a CD, inserting another CD
causes the initial CD dialog box to pop up again even though Windows Media
Player is already running. Ordinarily a "take no action" response will be
successful. This particular time, Windows Media disappeared from the task
bar and starting a new instance resulted in two instances running. After
that the task bar would no longer appear and Windows XP SP 2 (with all
security patches installed) had to be rebooted.

The Error ID = 0xC00D0FD6, Condition ID = 0x0000000 report was processed
after the reboot. Before the reboot, software hangs for Explorer, Internet
Explorer and Microsoft Word were recorded and reported. The recurring theme
is that Windows Media Player appears to causing other Microsoft applications
    to hang.
