  1. I rec'd this email from a friend

This is a video clip from the indoor freestyle RC competition

Takes a while to download if you're running a modem like me but it's prett
    cool

When I clicked on the link my Windows Media Player screen came up but gave me this error message: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the required video codec is not installed on your computer.

Help! Please write to as I don't know anything about this bulletin board.

  3. Well, what exactly are you trying to play? You didn't exactly say.

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the required video codec
is not installed on your computer."

  4. Thanks for the reply.

It's an .asf file that I downloaded. I can only hear the sound of it if I
play with Total commandar view function, but I can't see the picture.

  5. Well, could you give a link to the ASF or provide what video codec is used
in it? There is not much anyone can suggest to you other then install the
    latest version of WMP.

  6. Thank you. Actually that is a movie file that I downloaded from an online
bbs (about 309MB). I'll try to install the lastest version first (mine is
version 9.00.00.3250). I really don't know what codec is used for that
video. Therefore, i guess the worst senerio might be simply delete the whole
file. Anyway, thank you so much for help.
