    [the thread that wouldn't die]

    Did you read earlier replies?

    To resolve these errors :

    * Search in Windows Explorer (WinKey+E) for "PSAPI.DLL" (without the
    quotes); you may need to enable Advanced option and the 3 options underneath
    it;

    * Rename all instances of PSAPI.DLL to PSAPIOLD.DLL or PSAPI.OLD; Do NOT
    rename C:\Windows\System32\PSAPI.DLL <=this file!

    * Restart the computer.

    Thank you! This also solved my problem. I know it wasn't causing issues
    with my computer, but it was so darn annoying. I appreciate the feedback!

  9. I just moved and am now able to get DSL and was only able to have dial-up
    where I was before, I thought may that was why I was getting this message
    but after reading these post I see its not. I'm not very comp. savy so if
    you would tell me where the installation location for SmartBridge is I would
    be greatful; it is driving me nuts. Thanks for all the detailed information,
    sorry I'm not so bright when it comes to fixing simple things. thank you.

    You quoted Robear's instructions!

    => Are you running IE7 in WinXP SP2, Chris?

    => Are you getting the following error message?...

    "The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in
    the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL."

    => If so, follow these instructions:

    1. Open a Windows Explorer Search window. The keyboard combination WinKey+F
    will open such a window.

    2. In the topmost Search box, type PSAPI.DLL

    3. Click on the Search Now button.

    4a. Right-click on any file named PSAPI.DLL found and Rename it to PSAPI.OLD

    4b. *BUT* do NOT rename the file PSAPI.DLL located in C:\Windows\System32
    <=this folder!

    5. Restart the computer.

  14. <sigh> Did you read ANY of the answers?
    This error message may be due to a program or programs (currently identified
    "culprits" include
    Motive SmartBridge,
    Hal Screen Reader,
    BT Broadband Help (BT Yahoo Help),
    and My Dolphin Screen Reader / Magnifier ) that ship with an older version
    of PSAPI.DLL
    Entry Point Not Found
    The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located
    in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

    To work around this error:

    Navigate to the installation location for SmartBridge (\Program
    Files\Verizon...\Smart...)
    Find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL (Do not rename
    the PSAPI.DLL file in your C:\Windows\System32
    directory.)
    Reboot the system
    The program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the \Windows\System32 directory
    and function normally.

    The same here and I gone through the Search in the Start. Went through
    WINDOWS and SBC/YAHOO Libraries with no result when Search found them to
    match.

    Thanks. Renaming the file psapi.dll worked nicely. No more error message at
    start up. Is there a way to use msconfig to disable motiveSB from start up
    and how will this affect my Verizon DSL? I ask this because I don't know what
    SmartBridge is or does. I only know that it comes with my Verizon DSL (I
    think).
