I was having the same problem just a few minutes ago. My comp updated to windows
update v6 this morning and sometime between then and now I turned off
the JIT compiler for virtual machine (in internet options)... I turned it back on and
....voila, it worked. Coincidence? I dunno. Try it if you have it turned off.

Are you using Norton Anti Virus v9.05.15?
If you are there is an option to enable/disable Script Blocking. Disable it.
    Then perform your update.

Hope it help. I had this same problem until I was looking into another problem.

  5. You're commenting on a post which is over a year old.
    Things change...

BTW if you are trying to diagnose your own problem symptoms
and want help please start your own thread with your own details,
instead of confusing various unrelated ones
with remarks somehow derived from your diagnosis.
