I'm using Windows media player 9.0
it came along with my Windows Server 2003.
this problem happened after i installed, and then
    uninstalled, another dvd player.

  4. No DVD decoder comes with any version of Windows including Server. You need
to purchase a decoder and install it, or reinstall what ever decoder you are
    using now.

    Oh, i'm sorry, i didn't follow you. I don't understand the
term "decoder". My DVD player is ASUS. SO you mean, i have
to reinstall the DVD software that came along it.

But, my problem is with wmplayer.exe. I think it is a file
    associates with windows media player.
Or maybe after i installed (and then Uninstalled) another
dvd software named cliprexdsfree, and also ASUS DVD
software, rose a conflict among the library files.

I'll try your suggestion. Thank you. Could i contact you
through msn messenger or by email? if you don't mine of
    course.

  6. You do need to reinstall the ASUS software, WMP uses it's decoder to decode
the DVD's. The problem is not with wmplayer.exe, but it is with DVDVideo.ax
    (ASUS decoder)

Sir, your suggestion worked. No more error about it. But i
still need your guidance, could i uninstall my asus dvd
software? Will there rise the same problem again? How do i
know that this was ASUS DVD SOftware's problem not WMP's
Problem based on event viewer or anything else?

    Thank you.

  8. The "ModName: DVDVideo.ax" gives it away. DVDVideo.ax is the module that
was crashing WMP. DVDVideo.ax is also the video decoder installed by the
ASUS DVD player. You "can" uninstall it, but if you do you can not watch
    DVD's or MPEG-2 video.
