error when attempting to install Server 2003 Eval

Discussion in 'Server Setup' started by Michael Lashinsky, Oct 27, 2003.

  1. I downloaded the ISO image, sent it to a CDRW, and
attempted to open it on a Windows XP Professional
machine. When I try to start the setup program, I get the
infamous F:/is not a valid Win32 application. I am not
new to computers, but at the same time I am new to the
server side of the microsoft server software. Would
anyone happen to know what I did wrong or how to fix this
    problem.

  2. Hi,

Q7: I cannot boot from the CD, and when I try to install it from my previous
Windows version I get Not a valid win32 application. What is wrong?

You have downloaded the 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003 and are trying
to install it on a 32-bit system. This is impossible and you must download
the 32-bit version and install that one instead.
