I can log into Windows messenger, my contact list will appear, but not even 3
minutes and a error comes up " Windows Live Messenger has encountered a
problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience". I have
uninstalled and reinstall Windows messenger several times today. What is the
    problem? This is very aggrivating.

  3. Hi Steve!

    This is regarding the 81000314

I don't feel comfortable in changing anything in the registry. This is a
very tricky part of the operating system. Any other suggestion. Or if I have
to fix something in the registry, where I go...do i use registry.exe? and
what keys is it located of the registry?
    Please let me know
    thank you

The registry keys don't do anything for me. I tried WebMessenger but I still
can't get in. Strangely, this is the error message WebMessenger gave me:

"We can't sign any more people in right now. Please try signing in again
    later."

What the heck is going on?

I have done none of the suggested thing accept run the repair option and I
can and am logged in on a back up e-mail/windows live account on messenger.
But like everyone else I can't seem to access with my Ginbug69 account. Fix
or no fix.. this is rediculous, please advise when this issue no longer
exists. I have had this account for nearly 13 years now and I will not be
giving it up now after everything I have been through with it. Thank you and
have a nice day. Fix it swiftly please.

  9. I am also having trouble logging in, my problem started just yesterday, my
wife has been having the problem for a couple of weeks. But my problem seems
to be a bit different, I have to disable my firewall (CA security), then both
myself and my wife can successfully sign in, other wise I like everyone else
gets the spinning only, no error messages. Why do I have to disable my
    firewall to log in????

I'm sorry, but I don't believe you are telling the truth here. I had no
problerm signing in until 5 minutes ago, and then after repeated clicking
try-again button (about 40 times) suddenly it signed in. Time you people
stop treating us as stupid, and just give it to us straight - and then your
half cooked reply, with no technical fix attached - what is that about? Are
you trying to make it difficult for us on purpose? Think man!

Here's the "tech" fix he was talking about:

Delete handshaking policy cache in windows Live Messenger 8.1:
    - Exit Messenger completely (right click the Messenger tray icon and choose
    Exit).
    - Open the registry editor (Start > Run > regedit) and navigate to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live\Communications Client
    - Remove the sub key: Shared
    - Close registry editor
    - Restart Messenger

Note: always be careful when editing the registry. Removing the wrong keys
can cause serious problems for Windows.

  12. This might be completely irrelevant but I keep getting this when I want to
    recover my gamertag.

"Can't sign in to xbox live. Make sure storage device is connected and that
you are connected to the internet.

    80150003:0"

Also to add, everything is connected and functioning until the loading
screen. When it is "recovering", live disconnects. Any suggestions or point
me to whoever can help me?
