    Hi,

does anyone know how to solve this Error event in Administrative events:

    Event id: 11
    Source CAPI2

    And here is the text:

Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at:
    <http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab>
with error: A required certificate is not within its validity period when
verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed
    file.

It appears every time I want to install external disk.

    thanx

under Vista...did you manage to resole it and, if so, do you mind giving me a
    hint or two please?

    Hi,
I have been having the same problem for some time now. I posted under the
heading EAccess Violation, as was the "Reminder" that motivated me to review
the Event Log, but that message seems to relate to a modem I have since
uninstalled. This appears to be a problem with Microsoft's download service.
Question - Does anyone from MS monitor these discussions, or is it only open
    to the victims?
