Exchange's 16 GB store limit - any relief in sight?

We have a client with about 20 users that has already had trouble with
their message store growing too big (16 GB). A couple of times we had
do an offline defrag just to get the store to mount.

Their email has a lot of large attachments, and the owners likes to use their
Outlook as a general filing system. We've tried to get them to keep their
mailboxes smaller, but, well, you know how it goes. And using PST's is
something we'd rather not do, as they want access to all of their Exchange
    items offsite through OWA.

I've read that MS was considering changing this 16 GB limit on their lower-end
versions (SBS, Exch. std.) Is this likely to happen any time soon? Or is the
$6,500 Exchange Enterprise version the only alternative for the foreseeable
    future?

    Thanks.

  3. Can you wait until later this year when it will be 75 gigs?

Exchange 2003 sp2 will blast the 16 gig limit goodbye.

Great news! I just skipped over the "click here for info about SP2" link on
the MS site. That'll teach me!

Thanks to Susan and RonK for teaching me a lesson!
