This refers to Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (KB110806) and
2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1)

I had changed my automatic downloads to manual download as every time I
tried to uninstall an unwanted programme I got the note that there was an
installation on at present and try again later.

So, today up came Windows saying I needed (recommended) to download the two
mentioned above. I clicked to do so and sometime later was told they had
failed. "click the Failed icon to learn how to solve the problem" it says
but all that happens is a little pop-up saying "Failed". Well I knew that.

How vital is it to have these two programmes? and if it is please tell me
how to acquire them without failure.

    Thank you,

    Dear PA Bear,

Thank you so much for the very helpful reply.

Because I had had the response Failed I assumed that they hadn't downloaded.

So imagine my surprise when I started to follow your advice and discovered
that they were listed in the Add/Remove list and not only that but they had
been downloaded two days after my posting.

I am saving your post in my "Important Help" folder though in case of future

    Many thanks again,

I hope though that my post and your reply will have helped others.

    Thank you again
