Failed Install....tried looking for remedies here, but to no avail

    This is what the screen says after I try to install the updates for win XP

    "No Updates Were Installe

    The following items failed to install. To try installing them again, click Review and install updates, and then click Install Now again

    Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB832894
    813951: Update for Internet Explorer 6 SP
    Security Update for Microsoft Windows XP (KB825119
    Critical Update for Windows Media Player Script Commands (KB828026
    Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB823182
    Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB824141
    Security Update for Windows XP (819696
    817787: Security Update Windows Media Player for X
    816093: Security Update Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft VM)

    I've tried loading some of them through microsoft download, and some have worked that way, but Windows update will not update on it's own............please hel

    and for some reason the "%windir%\windows update.log" (w/o the quotes

    Brad we need to take a look at the Windows Update.log file. On Windows XP
    the file is located in the C:\windows directory. Please post the last 20
    lines of the log.

    Also take a look at the following KB:

    You Cannot Install Some Updates or Programs

    worked that way, but Windows update will not update on it's
    own............please help
