I am running Windows 2003 server and I have 5 domain controllers. I have all
the updates done. I am logged in as Administrator but whenever I try to open
"any" group policy and edit it, I get this:

Failed to open the group policy object, you may not have appropriate rights.
Details: The network name cannot be found.

I made sure that all the appropriate permissions are given on the Sysvol
share and on the policies folder and subfolders.

I've read some Microsoft articles but they didn't fix the problem:

You might want to take a look at the following link:

    http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1058&eventno=1752&source=Userenv&phase=1

eventid.net is a great source for trouble shooting problems.

Christian also mentioned dcdiag (from the Support Tools). The Support Tools
are a wonder group of utilities that will make your life as a SYS Admin a
whole lot easier. I would strongly suggest that you (and everyone, for that
    matter) install the Support Tools.
