Favorites menu sometimes won't expand

I did a search looking for others seeing this problem. I still prefer using
the Favorites menu from the "Menu Bar" because it will expand folders within
folders automatically and I can move my cursor side to side and up and down
to get to links within these folders easily.
Here's the problem I see. Sometimes when I cursor to a folder within the
Favorites menu it has this little bitty block at the edge of the dropdown
menu right in line with the folder I want to be expanding. This folder will
not expand. If I go to another folder it is ok. It appears it happens to
folders I have clicked a link in during the current brosing session. If I
open a new tab, it works fine within that tab. If I explore that folder by
opening it in its own window, after closing the window it works fine. It's a
strange thing. I hope people understand what I'm refering to.

Solution: Fave folder does not expand

I, too, see the same problem on my IE7. Favorites folder does not automatically expand and has a tiny box in the upper right corner of the folder name. I didn't find a truly simple fix, but this works, without having to shut down IE7. (Shutting down IE7 and bringing it back up also works, if you want to do that.)

    Right click on the folder.
    Select Open.
When the folder window is displayed, select Favorites, highlight your folder and let it automatically expand.
    Shut down that window.
On your original IE7 window, the problem folder should now be expanding correctly.

Weird problem, and I'm surprised that the "geniuses" at Microsoft haven't cared enough to fix it, if they know about it.
