Where can I go to find info on some type of unit that I can plug in fiber
optic and plug out cat5 and vice versa. I've gotta do it on two ends of a
fiberoptic run. Kinda like a medi converter or something.

The end of each run looks like this:

    All ready to do.

    Thanks.

    Great!

Are these as simple as just plugging fiber optic in one side and a cat5 out
    the other to a switch?

Turns out there is single-mode, mulit-mode, ST, SC, 62.5/125 ┬Ám ,etc.

I've gotta figure some other things out here too it seems.

It will be fun though. I've got 12 out of the strand multi-mode and 12
single-mode. I think I'm going with single-mode and letting the others hang.

  5. Most commercial switches, even the cheap HP2512's have sockets for fiber
modules. You just ad the module and can then connect both the fiber and the
    CAT5 into the same switch.
