If I try to open an email that needs powerpoint slideshow it tells me the
file does not have a program associated with it. It does have the Microsoft
powerpoint slideshow set in set associations control panel. If I save
attachment to documents it opens every time, It just won't open in Windows
Mail! Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou

Are you sure that the file you are receiving has the correct extension set -
the assoications are just done using the file extensions, nothing more
    sophisticated than that.

Try saving the file to disk and doing an "Open with" : Powerpoint, or save
it and rename it to be <filename>.ppt.
