Files play automatically when properties are displayed in Win Expl

This might need to go to an WinXP forum, but since it seems to be related to
a WMP plugin, I'm posting it here first.

I've noticed an annoyance lately that I have been unable to prevent. When
using Windows Explorer, every time I view the file properties of a multimedia
file (wav, mp3, avi, etc.) it automatically starts playing the file in the
2nd tab of the properties window. This would not really be a problem, except
if I don't go to tab 2 and stop the file, the audio continues to play after I
have closed the properties window. If I happened to be viewing properties of
an hour long video, the audio would continue for an hour until the file was
done. I haven't let it run that long yet, I always reboot my computer since
that is the only thing that seems to stop it.

Does anyone know how to disable this autoplay setting? I'm not sure what
started it in the first place, and I can't find any settings in Explorer or
WMP to prevent it. I'm running WinXP Pro SP2 and WMP 10, btw.
