the current dialog should be replaced with a better thing. something like the
Ctrl+F from firefox or an even better. it just sucks this way.
i think it would be best to include the highlight features from MSN Toolbar
    into IE

the current dialog should be replaced with a better thing. something like
+1 on adding Mozilla-style 'Find As You Type' functionality:

  3. I agree. It was a huge disappointement to see that Ctrl+F hasn't been
improved significantly. After tabbed browsing, this is definitely the most
important function on which Firefox has a clear advantage over IE6, and it is
one that we all use on a daily basis.
Firefox made this function more usable by not using a pop-up window. Ctrl+F
sets the focus on a sleek search box, with some nice options boxes
conveniently located. So. IE7 doesn't have to mimick those interface choices,
but should definitely avoid imposing an intrusive pop-up window.
IE search features should be at least as flexible than those available in
    the Office applications.

  4. I absolutely agree with you guys; the #1 coolest feature (that competitors
don't have) of Firefox is the current-page search box. The way it searches
as you type the word, and highlights the found search term, is fantastic.

at the very least, IE7 should ditch the popup box. I was so sure that the
current-page search functionality would have been changed that when I saw
that the old implementation was still there after downloading the beta, I
actually laughed. It feels really anachronistic compared to all the other
    cool features of IE7.

I agree also, please fix this to work at least somewhat like Firefox!

  6. I'm with you on that one!

Find like Firefox will be great!

Actually a find feature that works will be great ... it's not IE7 specific
but I personnally have a lot of problem with the search feature of IE that
sometimes doesn't find texts that actually exit in the page ... and having to
specify the direction for the search ...

For me that's really important, that's one of the features required to have
me swicth back from Firefox to IE.

I 8th the motion... Firefox got this one right. MSFT needs to add that type
of find. I can't believe that the old tired Find has made it all the way to
Beta 3 (7.0.5450.4). It's a shame that MSFT seems to be ignoring this one.
