Folders, Files & Permissions?

Discussion in 'Windows Small Business Server' started by Dennis Mutsaers, Jan 17, 2004.

  1. Hi,

Is there a method to configure the permissions of a folder that allows users
to create folders in a shared folder, but doesn't allow users to create,
copy or move files in the shared folder?

    Best regards,
    Dennis.

  2. Go to the security tab of a folder's properties and click "advanced."
You'll see that you have the option to apply different settings to the
current folder and its subfolders. In other words, you can set different
permissions to the top level folder than you do for subfolders. I'd
recommend that once you think this is set up correctly, you test it
thoroughly with an ordinary user account to make sure you're getting the
    results you expect.
