How can I send something to a legally blind person in a font larger than 36
    points?

I went to all the fonts installed and none shows larger than 36 points
    maximum.

Thanks a lot, but that is very likely to much for him. He can only see on a
32" monitor and even than with a 2X magnifier in front of it. (Moist Macula
    degeneration)

I have Microsoft Picture It - it can make very big text
MAYBE - you could type the text you want -
make it the size you want and save as a .jpeg
then send as a picture attachment.
You'd probably have to play with the text size until you got it so he could
    see it.
I think Picture It goes up to 620 pts.

Is Picture it by MS a separate application? I have MS Office 2003 Pro but
never saw that application in it. What is the cost?

MS Picture It! is a discontinued product...however
there is a 60 day trial still available for the last version
of MS Digital Image Suite 2006 (the succcessor to
Picture It!). Maybe you could experiment with it.

    (this product line has been
    discontinued but you can still
    download the Starter Version
and run it for 60 days)

    John,

Thanks for that info, I was unaware Picture It had discontinued.
I am interested in the 60 day demo version.

    Good Luck Ritter!

If you're going to use a paint program to type text, then save as an image
file, you can use any program. You can even use paint.net which not
discontinued and is free. I don't feel this is the best solution. It is
cumbersome. If you need to send text in a larger font than what WLM can
provide, then you should look at another mail program. You said you own
Office. Why not use Outlook as a POP client to send to your friend with MMD?
In my Outlook 2007, I just entered a font size of 999.
