I have a set of webpages with embedded window media
    player
which stream content from the windows media server, i'd
like to know if it is possible to display an html message
when no content is availble for streaming ?
Scenario: user opens webpage with embedded media player
with intent to listen to a live audio broadcast of
discussion, but if the discussion is not in session when
user connects I would like a message to be generated
telling the user that the discussion is not in session
instead of the user guessing something else when player
is continuously trying to load nothing...

    I hope that makes sense,

Thanks much for any help or let me know if you need
    clarification

I would say, make 2 sources on your media server, 1 source for the live
broadcast and 1 source with a .wav or such. You can fill the .wav with
anything you like to hear. This .wav wil be played continuously.
When the live source is ready to broadcast, simply change sources.
