I have two Media center pc's, i had the burner preinstalled from the factory
and the other did not. I recently added a burner to the second PC and a tv
tuner card. The tv tuner card installed great and so did the dvd burner. My
problem is that i cannot get Media Center to recognize that i have the burner
so that i can burn recorded shows to dvd. I cannot click on a recorded show
and burn it to DVD like i am able to on my other PC. What do i need to do in
order for MEdia Center to recognize it and allow me burn from within Media
Center. The drive is a Sony if that makes any difference and i have
installed Nero as the burn program. Thank you in advance for your help.

Sounds like you need a DVD encoder. Do a search for SonicEncoders and get
    and install SonicEncoders.msi

    Marvin,
Thanks for that advice, unfortunately I read about that yesterday and I
installed that as well as made sure the entries in the registry were set
according to some postings that I saw as well. I am still at a loss on what
    to do, thanks.
