  4. I've seen him too! Anyway, MSDN and TechNet are NOT getting this build!
    Simple as!!
They're only releasing it to show how Beta 2 will look to some degree, and
that Beta 2 will have a whole load of fixed bugs that we reported in 5308
    and previous to that.

  5. Don't you remember that I dropped out of the Tech Beta because I was unable
to get 5112, and 5219 to install on my computer previously? A problem which
continued with 5231 and 5270, and still sometimes occurs with 5308!

  6. P.S. The error message is "There was an Error while Copying Files," which
    is getting quite old now!

  7. P.P.S. You have seen me more recently in the "Other High Profile Beta (You
know, the one that keeps bogging down Microsoft Beta Place)," not the
Windows Vista Beta. It was sometime last year (I think in October) when I
dropped out of the Windws Vista Beta.

  8. Can you try and remember to put any PS, sometimes PPS and on occasion PPPS
and even sometimes PPPPS's *within* the original post so that you don't have
to keep PPS'ing us off with your multiple spamming?

If TechNet and MSDN aren't getting it, who does/can get it and how??

  11. P.S. windows Vista Build 5342 Never should have even been spoken about in
the Public Newsgroup's, if it is indeed for Technical Beta Tester's Only!
Now that it got mentioned here, it's fair game, and I will continue to
complain about it to Microsoft, that is until it gets released on MSDN!

Wait'll you get chased around four or five newsgroups, and are accused of
violating your NDA in every one of them. Then we'll see if you ask for calm.

  15. Jane, it's purely to show Technical Testers how far they're at in terms of
repairing bugs for the Beta 2 release. Only people who have Vista access on
    Connect can get it )

blaiming them? youre the one who opted out of the beta!! tough luck on
you in my books. does that sound about right?

    Thanks for the explanation Zack:)

I'm on Connect, but not on the Vista bit. Guess I'll have to wait for the
    public Beta.

  19. Well Kevin,

Simply put, if you dropped out of the Tech beta, then you don't have
any right to b1tch, whine, or complain about whether or not Microsoft
chooses to release ANYTHING to MSDN. If you really wanted the latest
builds, you should have sucked it up and stayed in the beta. But, you
    didn't.
For the record, quit your whining. My instructor wants to load Vista
up to show her Windows Operating System course what it looks like. Our
college has a MSDN Academic Alliance subscription which is supposed to
get Microsoft programs. Guess what? The version of Vista that they
have is dated September 2005. I'm not even sure what build that is.
So, you're doing better then people who pay a he11 of a lot more then
    you did for your subscription.

So, in short, quit your whining and be glad that you're getting
SOMETHING. You could be out on your butt, wishing that you stayed in,
and having to go to Chicago to see Vista (or read reviews of it in a
    magazine).

  20. And, by the time you get 5342 released on MSDN (even if it's next week),
they'll be releasing the April CTP. So, this will be a moot point to
    EVERYONE except for you.

And, NO I don't know anything that you don't know. I'm making the point
that the April CTP will be out before they would finally decide to
    release this build to MSDN.
