Have installed all MS service packs. Still when
attempting to access Google.com....am redirected to some
obscure web site *(Not google)..Also happens when
attempting to access other search engines *(ie Yahoo).

    Can't find entries

    %WinDir%\Help\hosts
    %WinDir%\winlog (to delete)
One fix talks about deleting the registry entry (through
    regedit)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
    Tcpip\Parameters "DataBasePath" = %SystemRoot%\System32
    \drivers\etc AND
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
    Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\windows "r0x"
(but they do not seem to exist ) IDEAS?
