GP Update to permit applications through SP2 Firewall (not happening)

    I have two applications that I need to allow access through the XP SP2
    Firewall and I need to be able to push out through GP these settings. I
    have found numerouse articles that give step by step instructions but the
    changes never seem to take place.

    I have made these changes to define the two programs as program exceptions
    using the correct sytnax but still nothing. A client of mine that I am
    doing this for has also been unsuccessful.

    Anyone know if there is some trick to having these changes take effect?
