I have ATI Radeon 7000 32 MB graphics card and Adaptec AVC 2010 PCI Video
card. I keep getting an error message that I cannot play videos whenever I
try to paly a video from the menu or a dvd. What am I missing?

    You got two problems

    i) Media Center requires much more than what your video card can support (It
needs a DirectX9 capable card.. the Radeon 7000 is a DirectX 7 card, so it
can't hope to do anything DirectX8 or DirectX9 in hardware). Specifically,
Media Center 2005 does VMR9 rendering, something the Radeon 7000 cannot do
    at all)

ii) Looking at the Adaptec website, it does not appear as though the AVC
2010 is a tv tuner card that Media Center can utilize (Media Center can't
use it, however, you may be able to use third party apps with that tv tuner
card in Windows XP Media Center Edition).

Basically, your hardware is insufficient for Media Center.
