Some months ago I purchased the WinTV-PVR usb2. Now I'm having trouble using
this device in the Media Center of MCE 2004. I was hoping someone could help
    me out here.

Problem is, I can add tv channels in the Media Center, but I only see a
black screen, and in a rare occasion a distorted test-image of a local tv
channel. I read somewhere that I should tune the channels in Hauppauge
WinTV, which I did, and then try in Media Center. But no luck so far. Dvd's
and other movies play just fine. I use the mce usb2 drivers version

The tv signal is Pal-B, analogue cable, in the Netherlands..

Any idea if what I want is possible? And if so, how?

  2. Hi Rolf

What's the situation in Netherlands at the moment. Is MCE officially

It maybe the same as in Australia. MCE launch is next month here and until
time Microsoft refuse to pass over the extra files required to get the TV
correctly tuned for the Australian conditions. We also have PAL-B. And my
card displays the same as your USB version. You may have to wait until the
    official launch.

    Hi Rob,

I'm not sure what the situation is. I use versions from my MSDN
subscription, and on the download site no dutch version is available. I
installed Windows XP Media Center Edition (English), and then the 2004
update. I also asked Hauppauge Benelux, and they answered (translated from

    "Dear mr Lange,
In the Netherlands we only support MCE2005, and with special hardware that
    is not sold seperately.
Concerning MCE2004 you could have a look at www.shspvr.com , but this is not
    officially supported by Hauppauge.
In case of problems we therefore really can't help you any further.

However, I get the impression that it is still possible with MCE 2004. Found
some promising references to www.thegreenbutton.com, but the posted links
were dead. So I'm still searching. Looks like I might have to install German
    MCE :(
