We are using DFS on a new small Win2003 standard edition office network with
the intention of providing fault tolerance using file replication. All seems
to work well except that we dont believe that we want clients to randomly
connect to the replicated site stores. We believe that we would like to
force clients to attach to the PDC except for when it is unavailable. Our
concern is that if a client attaches to the backup store and stays attached
to that store, and other clients are modifying the same file on the primary
store, there will an overwrite problem.
Is this a good idea and can it be implemented? Is there a preferable method
    such as a scheduled xcopy.
Also, when we map a drive to this DFS namespace and are attached to the
replicated store, we also see the raw shares in addition to the DFS links.
When attached to the primary store, we only see the links (this is what we
expect to see in both instances). The raw shares on both the PDC and the
replicated store are shared as $ shares.
Today is rollout so any help would be greatly appreciated.
