I have a dsl modem connected to a linksys router that is
connected to switch hub then to server and client. I have
win2k server with dns server running. My problem is i
have a dns in server that is and 2 dns from
isp. When i put them all to my client adding first the
one from my server then the other 2 from isp. I cant
browse or use the internet but works well with my domain.
Then if i reverse it add the first 2 dns from my isp my
internet works well but loging on the domain gives me
problem. I also try adding only my dns form server or dns
from isp, end up the same thing. But I can ping outside
ip but not the the names ex. while
using only the dns on my server. Please Help me In
resolving this problem I have many sleepless night
finding answere in the net please.. any help I will be
glad and greately appriciated :) thanx...

In your win 2000 DNS, you should enable forwarders and and your ISP's DNS as
(In DNS manager, right click on your servername and
select properties. Then click on Forwarders tab.
Add the ISP's DNS servers as forwarders, there.)

On client machines use only the internal DNS server.

    This should solve the problem.

Client only gets your server's DNS address. Your server DNS gets your
    ISP addresses listed as forwarders.

You are right, otherwise internet would have worked using Root Hints.
glad if you have a root zone, as Kevin told you need to
    delete it.
