I just finished copying all of my CD's, MP3's, etc onto my new MCE 2005. Now
when you go to My Music to play an album (as well as anywhere in My Music) it
shows 2 songs of everything in the album (ie an album with 12 songs now has
24), but in the folder where it was copied to there is only one song from the
album (ie 12 songs of the 12 song album). When you play the album it also
plays every song twice! Here is another example: I bought an album from a
website, downloaded it, and PUFF!! Now I have 4 copies of every song, in My
Music. If you delete one of the songs in My Music it deletes the one and
only song in the main copied folder leaving you zero songs to play. I like
to listen to my music, but twice in a row for every song is a little much!
    Any advice, Please!

  2. Don't know if this will work but it's worth a try. Go into Media Player (not
Media Center). Do you see double albums/songs there? If so, delete them all.
However, be careful to only delete the playlist, not the actual file
(there's checkboxes for that). Then tell Media Player to create a playlist
and point it to the directory containing the albums. In theory it should
create you a new list with each album and song only listed once...

  5. I think the "Awesome! I think that got it." message means it worked for him.
Have you tried it? If it doesn't work, I'd suggest deleting your library (as
below), rebooting, going into Media Center to see if it's still there, then
going into Media Player and creating a new library. If any step doesn't seem
to work, let us know which one...
