Help: "Local Users and Groups" not listed in the MMC3.0

Discussion in 'Windows Vista Help' started by The Man With No Name, Jun 5, 2007.

  1. Hello,

I'm trying to install some new programs and one program keeps telling me I
need "Administrator Privileges," so I did some checking online and found
that in Vista the "true" administrator account is hidden and can be switched
on by making some changes in the "Local Users and Groups" part of the
"Computer Manager" MMC. Seems worth trying, to get my program to install
but; the "Local Users and Groups" isn't being listed (all the other options
    are, just not that one)

Any idea what could be causing this or how to work around it? Should I
    consider reinstalling Vista?
