    sHello,
I have come across a situation where the only Administrators on one of my
domain controllers is the Domain Administrators. Some deleted in the past the
local Admin account. My question is what is the best advice to rectify this
w/o backup? This happens to be at a remote site acting as a DC but is the
least important DC out of three. I know I could reinstall 2003 on the
partition, but is this the only route to go? Should I demote it as a DC do
the install and promote it again? We are a child domain within a forest.
    Thanks in Adv,
    JH

  2. Hi,

Can you please clarify what the problem you are encountering is? A Domain
Controller does not have a local administrator account or a local
Administrators group. The only Administrators of a Domain Controller
should be Domain Administrators / Enterprise Administrators.

    Hope this helps,

You answered it. I didn't realize that a server would lose it's local admin
acct once it's been promoted to a DC

    Thanks
