  1. At first sorry for my bad English but I´m spanish.

Virtualpc can´t recognize my cd unit then, i can´t
install windows in the virtual hard disk.

I insert a floppy boot drive but later i can´t go into de
    cd unit.

When i try to enter in D: or E: the following text
    displays: INVALID DRIVE SPECIFICATION.

    can somebody help me?

    A lot of thanks

  2. Use the drop down menu for the CD icon in the tray in the
bottom of the virtual machine window. The menu has an
entry "Use Physical drive D: (or E:)". You must tell
virtual pc to use the physical drive that has your CD in
it. You may use either drive, but only one at a time.

What OS are you trying to install as the Guest? Colin
mentioned capturing the drive in VPC, but that doesn't do
anything from the Guest perspective except make the drive
    available.

If you're booting off a DOS boot disk, for example, you
have to load a CD driver, which then determines what
drive letter you use in the Guest.

Does your boot floppy include a CD-ROM driver?
From your description of the problem, I'd guess it doesn't. You can download
boot floppy disks that include CD-ROM drivers from www.bootdisk.com

    Hope this helps.
