I am running Windows XP and I installed MS03-026:
Security Update for Windows XP (823980) and it shows it
was successful. But when Windows update rescans my system
it say I need to install "MS03-026: Security Update for
Windows XP (823980)" again. I looked in the ADD/Remove
section in the control panel and it shows that "Windows
Hot Fix KB823980 WAS installed. Should I uninstall this
through the ADD/Remove section and reinstall or should I
delete it from the registry first then do an uninstall or
both and in what order? Any help in this matter
    would be great.

Just reinstall the patch directly from this web site and the problem should cease.

This is the patch you need if using Windows XP:

Blaster Worm: Critical Security Patch for Windows XP (32-bit version)
