  1. Microsoft should fix WLM Desktop so it's more useful than crapware
before they unleash Windows 7 and Windows 8 into an already bleak
digital environment where people just look at the pretty pictures.

    HTH.

WLM Desktop is legacy ware with the Win8 app taking precedent for
    development, resources, budget, and support.
I.e. For WLM 2011 wysiwyg - WLM QFE3 (released a few months ago and
eventually mandatory to retain functionality) now falls in one of the
    following categories:
    - design intent
    - won't fix

On the other hand...all of the WL Essentials 2011 applications install and
run on Win8 (not recommended or stated as compatible). As noted for Win8 -

Windows 7 was unleashed quite some time ago. Where have you been? :p

Windows Live Mail "desktop" is now simply called Windows Live Mail, part of
Windows Live Essentials. This newsgroup was created way back when it was first
introduced and carried the "desktop" moniker as part of its name. By the way,
this newsgroup is only carried by servers that don't honor the Remove Group
message as the Microsoft.public heirarchy was retired by Microsoft a few years
    ago.
The latest version on Windows Live Essentials runs on Vista and Windows 7 and
runs fine on the Windows 8 Preview. The previous version is the last to install
on Windows XP. It is unlikely that we'll see any revisions to Windows Live Mail
beyond security patches, though one never knows. Mail is the Metro style preview
application for Windows 8 Release Preview and a "final" will ship with Windows 8
    upon release.
I believe that there are quite a few users who would disagree about your
classification of Windows Live Mail as crapware. Sure it has flaws and could
stand revision and fixes for issues that have existed through many iterations,
but it sure seems useful as it exists today as a client application for mail,
newsgroups, contacts, calendar, and RSS feeds.

  4. Whoops... Did I actually say "crapware"?

I believe I actually meant to say "crapware."

Hmmmmm-K'h... Maybe *those* users would comprehend better
and possibly be more agreeable if I classified WLM as
"crapwhere" or "crapwear" or "crappyware" etc... ?
Well, *that* cetainly dispells any notion of "crapware."
As in "a stick is useful if you can't find a crutch" or
"smoke signals work just fine if you don't like the
digitals all up in yer computers."
Although the rationalizations and justifications using
the iteratrions as a premise is elucidating, the least
I can do is tone down my rhetoric and just call it
what it is; to wit: "unintelligently engineered crapware"
or "maliciously engineered obsolescence crapware with
various other features that are nearly effective as well."

It's like they say at Microsoft: "If we're going to do
somthing, we might as well do it half-ass - then issue
some patches, hotfixes, and service packs before moving
on to the next crapware project building on the vast
experience gained from the last one... etc., etc., etc."

    HTH.

when it is "bad," it is still PRETTY DARN GOOD!)

You obviously do not like being ignored Bucky !!

Posting the same message twice, and changing the Subject line twice.

    Why?

You might consider channeling your talent to a more constructive end, rather
than writing like a total plonker?

Most people recognise that WLM is a RUBBISH mail & news App', so what is
    your point?

btw, your Sig' is toooooooooooooooo long.
