Hierarchical storage of media files and category storage of video

I have a lot of video files on my computer. When I use media player 11, all I
get is a long list of video files. Is there any way to put in folders so
that I do not have one long list of files?

I also have a lot of TV shows that I copied from DVDs that I own, so that I
can watch them on travel and from my computer. When media player searches my
computer for video, it puts all files in the movie folder. How can I move
them to the TV show library?

When I try to change the attributes of a video file in the movie library,
perhaps to mark it as a TV show, it will only let me change the file name. I
cannot associate art or actors. How do I change the attributes media player
stores about the video file ?

Is there a better PS3 compliant media library/player software that will give
me the features that Windows media player does not give me?
