Hotmail and MSN fail to login

Discussion in 'Windows MSN Messenger' started by jeremyhellstrom, Nov 5, 2004.

  1. For the past 2 days I have been unable to login to a
specific hotmail account. My 2nd Junk Mail/Lists account
is fully functional, it is only the one specfic problematic
account, that I entered as my email for this post. MSN
still alerts me to new messages, but I cannot access them.

The login proceeds normally, until I enter my password if
using hotmail, or until I click on my hotmail inbox via
MSN. IE then lauches into it's
    http://by2fd.bay2.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/HoTMaiL? etc...
login and stays there, as a blank white page and IE stops
responding. An End Task is the only way to close the
window at this point. Just to stress this, I am not
getting an about:blank page, I am freezing on the cgi-bin
    login process.

    Help?

  4. Beat me to the suggestion :) Also, do you happen to have a second browser
installed to see whether it's a Hotmail or an IE problem, because it sounds
IE-related? As a sidenote, keep a second browser handy on your system in
case one happens to run into "issues". I suggest checking out Firefox as a
    back-up browser (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/). Enjoy!
