How can I select a folder for images download?

    I have IE9 Ver: 9.0.08112 and Windows 7 SP1.

I want to specify a folder for images & other downloads on another HDD
(not the system drive) and I need this to be permanent.

Firefox does this easily, but where can this be done in IE9?

I have searched high & low without any luck.

    Any clues would help.

You should have asked in your reply in alt.windows7.general; we would have been glad to tell you.

Open Tools, View Downloads. Click on the Options button. Click on Browse and pick a location you want to save your
downloads. Click OK, Close. All done :)

Thanks, but I did what you said but it doesn't work. Although the
path stays in the box the images still just go to the pictures folder
    - even when I restart IE9. It does not allow pasting or inserting
    the full path either.

Don't know what to tell you. Works for me doing it just like I described.

I haven't tried cut 'n' paste for the location; I just clicked on Browse and browsed to it. Once I selected the folder
I wanted, I clicked on Select Folder at the bottom of the window, then OK, Close and everything I download goes to that
folder, be they pictures or files or mp3's.
