How do I install the Virtual Machine Additions for Win2k3 SP1 running as a
VM inside of Virtual PC 2004? I know I can launch the VM Additions within
the Virtual PC 2004 console window but is this the right one? Someone said
you need to install the additions for Win2k3 but what does that mean
exactly? How do I do it?

I was told to use the version of the Virtual Machine Additions that came
with Virtual Server 2005 R2. What does this mean exactly?

You're on the right track. Install the ones from the console Window.

  4. download Virtual Server 2005 R2...
    install it...
find the iso of the additions inside vs2005r2 folders...
    mount it in the VM...

alternatively you can extract the iso directly from the msi file if you
don't want to install vs2005r2, see my blog:

it's in italian, but the two commands in italic are very easy to use...
