How do I play widescreen JVC MOD files in WMP?

    Hello all,

    I just bought a JVC HDD camcorder (GZ-MG555). I've run into the WMP playback
    issue and it's driving me crazy (widescreen 16:9 files from the camera are
    playing distorted in WMP). Since I intend to stream them down to an HDTV
    using my Xbox360 as a Media Center Extender, I need to get them working
    successfully in WMP first.

    I have already tried the following:
    i) Changing the file extension from .MOD to .mpg
    ii) Manually adjusting the Display Aspect Ratio in WMP (no effect)

    Does anyone have a fix for this??
    (Other than re-encoding the files, which I don't want to do).
