    Hi all,

I have XP PRO SP1 and have had no problems of any kind. I mostly use WMP8
to play short AVI and MPG clips in full screen mode.

Because I wanted to view CNN videos on their web site, I upgraded to WMP
    9 yesterday.

WMP 9 works fine w/ CNN videos but it has a very different interface when
I view my short AVI and MPG clips. (WMP8 does not have the wide top band
and the controls along the bottom are much smaller)

I want very much to roll back to WMP8. If I have to I will reinstall
Windows but I really don't want to if I have to.

Does anybody know how to get WMP 8 back again?

My system restore did not have a restore point set before the WMP9
    install. I already tried.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

WMP setup should have set a System Restore point for you - did that not
exist? If that could not have been created, you would have gotten an
explicit warning from setup. If you didn't get that, it should have created
one. The rollback story wasn't fully fleshed out in full until v11, so
System Restore was used as a back-up mechanism Just In Case. =\
