The latest MSN Messenger upgrade now causes it to load &
run whenever Windows starts up. I would like to remove it
from loading on startup. NOTE: There is no shortcut to MSN
Messenger in any Startup folder. That would be easy to
remove. MSN Messenger was added to the taskbar during
installation, but doesn't show up in any Startup folder.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Open msn messenger, under tools, under options, under
general, uncheck the first box. That should fix it.

    Are you kidding?

In MSN Messenger, go to Tools, then Options, and click on the General tab.
At the top of the list, uncheck "Automatically Run Messenger when Windows
    starts"

Cruise through the other options to check other settings.... it'll reduce
the need to post questions you can answer easily yourself...

My pleasure... sorry for being a lecturer... honestly.

I am constantly amazed at just how helpful the Help files are in Win XP... I
keep asking myself... "Is this *really* a Microsoft product?" I am still
getting used to it.... that part of all of their software has become much
    more robust.

    Surf happy,
