How do I turn off Windows Server 2003 Disk Performance Counters?

    In the good old days you could type diskperf -n to disable disk counters.
    How do you do in Server 2003?

  2. Don't think you can do that any more. They change the model where the
    disk counters are not enabled until an application requests that
    information.

    If you do a /help you see the following:

    NOTE: Disk performance counters are permanently enabled on systems
    beyond Windows 2000.

    Both Logical and Physical Disk Performance counters on this system
    are automatically enabled on demand.
