I have mirrored sets. My drives are full, is there some other way that just
swapping them out and restoring from tape?

    Why not:

    - Break the mirror
    - insert 1 new disk.
    - recreate the mirror
    - switch disk0 with disk1
    - break the mirror
    - insert 2nd new disk
    - recreate mirror

The problem with that is that the partition sizes will remain the same so
you would have to use a tool like Partition Magic to resize it afterwards.

Isnt there another way though without using a 3rd party SW or loosing disk
    capacity on the new ones?

    Two more ways,

1, Do what Bob say, with the remained HDs formal another mirror drive.

    2. Use another HD and install Window with backup software without the old
Mirr drive ON, break the mirror remove the drive if no space in the scsi
chain or leave it. then attach the new drive. Boot up the new window and
backup the old drive to tape. Format and active the new drive. restore to
the new drive then remove the old and the temp window drive.

I hope this is not too confusing it may work!
