How do you cascade tabs or tile them vertically or horizontally?

I would appreciate how you do the above with tabs like you can on windows
that are open in the toolbar.

That functionality is not included in IE7.

 

Will that be available in an update, or next release; IE8?

You don't. If you want to do that turn off tabs.

I rather doubt that feature will be introduced because it defeats the
purpose of tabs - may as well use separate windows - and most people
want a smaller frame, not a larger one.
