Ok so im getting kinda tired if not mad about having to install vista. I
had XP on a system I just built for a friend but now I have been trying
to install Vista 64 on his new gammin rig. Howeve Ive found that the
load process seems to be locking up. The first time I tried to load it,
it just sat at 0% in Expanding files, the second time at 18% and were
talking 30 mins at a time. Im just about had it with messing with
windows vista and doing a nice fresh XP load on it cause I know that It
works already, I just wanted him to get the newer better???
OS...questionable now. When I loaded vista on my computer it was super
fast, however it was only the 32bit version.

    His computer stats:
    AMD 6400
    2gb Gskill mem
    Abit An-m2 mobo
    WD 160gb hd
    Evga 8800GT video card
Lite on DVD plus minus burner

At last look the computer is now stuck at 23% loading and hasnt moved
in 10 mins, This kinda OS is just garbage In my opinion atm, IF it keeps
up its getting XP on it again by the end of the day, due to the fact I
have to get it back to him tonight!!!

Do you have a question? If you loaded it on your computer and it was "super
why blame the operating system. It is possible that there is some
incompatibility with his hardware. I have loaded Vista on a number of
systems, both new and old and the install time was reasonably short.

As I said, what help did you ask for? I saw no questions. I did suggest that
the hardware may have a compatibility problem. Try removing one stick of RAM
    during the install. Chill.

Don't be insulting to the people that come here to help for FREE, clown!

What is your hard drive, SATA?

Install the drivers if it is!

    And don't come back here!

Why all the angst. There are posts all over the place to this effect.

His question is why is it so difficult to install. I haven't been able to
install it either. I have read on posts that the better your graphics card
the harder it is. That is balls if you ask me. I have an 8800GT too and I
cannot get it to work either.

Mick how are you supposed to install new drivers if you cannot install the OS?
