I have been having problems with http://companyweb. I have decided to create
a new internal website to use only on my local network. I know how to create
a new website using IIS to use on the internet, but I am unsure how to create
a new website to use only on my local network. Also I want it to have it's
own name, like http://<sitename>/, somthing to use other than the standard
    http://companyweb. Thanks for the help!!

  2. Hello Jimmy

Sounds like you are 90% there. Once you create the website just add a host
    header to the site.

open the properties of the website
on the website tab click the Advanced button next to the ip address text
Click the Add button put the local address use port 80 and add
click ok and ok. This should make the site available on port 80 on the lan
address with a host header or http://sitename
then go to the dns console and add a cname record for the sitename. You can
use the companyweb cname record as a model

The users should then be able to access it by using http:// sitename from
    their browser

    I hope this helps

I am a novice and decided to build a website for my business. Could anyone guide me on how to add an internal website page where I can link data from the program I use to run my business?
