How to determine when and by who the "Schema Master" was modified

Discussion in 'Active Directory' started by news.microsoft.com, Nov 18, 2003.

  1. Hello,

I am trying to pinpoint who would be responsible for changing the FSMO role
of "Schema Master" in our site. More importantly is when this took place.

Due to the hurry I am in I thought I'd just post a quick question, if you
can help out please don't hesitate ;-)

    Greetz,

    Sol

  2. First, look at repl metadata with repadmin. This will tell you when and
where the last mod took place. Then, check security logs on that dc. Perhaps
your fsmoRoleOwner writes were setup for auditing. Then you'd know whodunit.
