How to find and identify which program is running in the background all the time

    I have several programs that run in the background, but
    one of them is running almost constantly. How do I
    indentify which one it is without stopping one that is
    necessary.

    Open the Task Manager and look at the processes tab - the one with a high
    CPU usage or high run time should be the one you are looking for (ignore
    System Idle Process entry).

    For WIN2K+ (not sure about W98 - never used it).
    CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then ALT + T
