Article ID : 307654 looks as though it needs updating unless I have a problem
    on my machine.

I have tried to run the command CDdrive:\I386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons, however
all my companies CD are Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1 or 1a and I get the
    message :-

Setup cannot continue because the version of windows on your computer is
newer than the version on the CD.

It seems like a catch 22 to me. Does anyone have any solutions to help me
    please.

  2. Hi

SP2 and Recovery console info available here:

    http://michaelstevenstech.com/xpfaq.html#RC

To create a slipstreamed SP2 CD:

You can download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en

or if you have a copy of the SP2 CD, you can use the xpsp2.exe
    file from that CD.

Then follow e.g. the directions in the following article to
    create a slipstreamed XP CD:
