When I install windows xp professional, I get message, saying 'windows xp
setup does not support upgrading from microsoft windows 2000 professional to
    microsoft windows xp professional'.

I don't want to install a new xp pro. I just want to upgrade windows 2000 to
    xp pro. Is that possible?

    Thanks

  2. Is your version of XP a full retail disc (in the box with manual all all) or is it an OEM version? If its an OEM version, you cannot perform an upgrade installation. OEM versions will only do clean installations. Of course, you can perform a dual boot installation, if you have multiple hard disks/partitions.
